The Academic Support Center (ASC) offers free, one-on-one tutoring and presents study-skills programs for Assumption students to develop strategies for personal academic success. Assumption student tutors are nationally certified by the CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association), a distinction that demonstrates their commitment and skill. The ASC is open Sunday through Friday for scheduled appointments.

In addition, the ASC participates in the eTutoring program. Students can submit online questions in specific subject areas, and receive real-time answers. A draft of a paper can be submitted for comments on how to improve. The eTutoring program can provide help with:
- Writing (in all subject areas)
- Anatomy and Physiology
The ASC works to instill the value of independent learning. It assists first-year students in adjusting from high school-level work to college-level work. Students learn to understand underlying principles so that when they see a problem, they can identify specific patterns and concepts, and strategies for how to approach them. Ultimately, students feel greater confidence in their own abilities.
Study Skills Programs
The ASC professional staff conducts Academic Expectation Workshops for first-year students during Orientation and the fall semester. All students are invited to attend study skills programs at any time during their time at Assumption. The programs concentrate on important skills including:
- Time management
- Reading strategies
- Test preparation
